Steppes salées et marais salés pannoniques

Pannonic and Ponto-Sarmatic salt steppes, salt pans, salt marshes and shallow salt lakes, which are highly influenced by a pannonic climate with extreme temperatures and aridity in summer. The enrichment of salt in the soil is due to high evaporation of ground water during summer. These habitat types are partly of natural origin and partly under a distinct influence of cattle grazing.
